Domande frequenti
- Is this only for my neck and shoulders?
- No. Your posture involves your whole body. The practices work with your hips, pelvis, spine, ribcage, upper back and shoulders to help your body feel more naturally open and upright.
- Do I need to be flexible or experienced with yoga?
- Not at all. The practices are designed to be adapted to your body. I encourage you to use props, choose the variation that feels right for you and never force yourself deeper.
- How often should I do the practices?
- You don’t need to do everything every day. Choose the practice that matches what your body needs. You might do a longer Yin or strengthening practice a few times a week and use the 5-minute Posture Break whenever you’ve been sitting for too long.
- What if I don’t have 30 minutes?
- That’s exactly why I included the 5-Minute Posture Break. You can do it from a chair whenever you feel yourself becoming stiff or collapsing forward during your day.
- Do I need special yoga equipment?
- No. Props can make the Yin practices more comfortable, but you can often use pillows, cushions, blankets or other things you already have at home.
- Is this just stretching?
- No. The Open Posture Plan combines Functional Yin, gentle movement, strengthening and a relaxing bed practice. The goal isn’t to stretch harder, but to give your body different ways to move, open, strengthen and rest.
- What if I have an injury or physical limitation?
- If you have an injury, recent surgery or medical condition, follow the advice of your healthcare professional. Never push through pain. The practices are about working with your body, not forcing it into a particular position.
